Help for research on a 6th KOSB - 15 Scottish Infantry division named Battledress

    Hello guys,

I recently acquired this very nice named BD of the 6th Bn Kings Own Scottish Borderers - 15 Scottish Infantry division. The BD is named to Roland H Robinson

It seems there have been some Pips on the shoulders so must have belonged to an Officer.

Is there any way to research this one? There is no military number or so in it.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Jan

1940 is very early so that's nice . France and Germany star suggests a D Day vet , naming your uniform with a school name tag is odd ( I used to have to do that with these little tags to my school uniform) , what are those Scottish "cloth" patches made of ? R Robinson would sadly be an extremely popular name. Rob
God please take justin bieber and gave us dio back

        Hi Rob,

Thanks for your comment. I've seen before a name tag in a ww2 uniform. Mostly written I agree.
The division patch is like woven silk. This may be plausible because this BD is supposed to be from an Officer. Never've seen the type before though.
All stiching seems original to me.

        Cheers

          Hi Jan

          some info:

1945, temporary Captain R. H Robinson, Border Regiment, service number 184544.

He was wounded 10/02/45 in Western Europe. Though not a battle casualty...

He was a 2nd Lieutenant in 1941 (Regular Army Emergency Commission).

If you have provenance for this tunic, it looks like a good acquisition.

          regards
