    20th Hussars beret-genuine?

    Hi
I have this beret with a 20th Hussars badge on the the front, the guy I bought it of said the badge was ww1? anyway the beret looks British and genuine but im a bit dubious as all the markings have a huge stain over them (an accident? ) but they appear to say 'Fisch....' theres a size 7, broad arrow and what appears to be 1945 or at least 19 something. Does this beret look genuine and correct or is it just a beret with a badge put on it, any thoughts on the badge? (please use link below for pics) any help would be great.

This is not a beret. it is the General Service Cap, used throughout WWII. Hope this helps.

Hi Rob, Marc is correct it is a WW2 "GS" cap. Looks fine to me.

Here is an old thread, now devoid of photos but may be of interest:

Take it back and cry fake. The 20th Hussars were amalgamated in 1920! The beret may be original WW2 but it should not have that badge on.
