    I don't think they are British military issue. I don't know enough about the European Jager units to say but in the '30s I suspect that even civilian climbing boots had hobnails, as they were the only alternative really, until rubber soles appeared.

    Any markings at all? Again, complete lack of stamps/markings might argue for civilian origins.

      No mountan climber, who wants to keep is feet, would wear canvas boots above the snow line, especailly one with grommit holes in them.

      Not 100% impratical more like 125.78%

      My guess would be French Jungle boots of the Viet-Min era?
