WW1 British Sword ???

What are your thoughts on this sword.
I have looked everywhere and I can not find anything .
No markings anywhere

I think I have a similar sword somewhere . Does it look like the blade maker has been erased ( filed off ) if so could be Argentinian . I will have a look later . Rob

No its not Argy possibly Austrian , good luck searching . Rob

Definitely not British and not WWI. A Cavalry sabre in the French / German style which means, as suggested, that it could be either of those countries or Austria or most of South America. The lack of markings make it less likely that it is French or German, I think, as most of theirs are stamped and re-stamped with numbers and symbols in the 'British' style.
