    WWII Mine Detector??

    Hello,
This Mine Detector got dragged out of a farm shed a few weeks ago, it would appear to have been there for many years.

I assume it is WWII, the box says it is a No.4A, the serial plate has said No.4 but it has been painted out, so I guess it has been upgraded. I seems reasonably complete apart from the the batteries and some spare valves.
It is in very good condition, though I don't know if it works.

So is it WW2? I assume whilst interesting it is not that collectable, anybody know what a fair price is for one of these, so I can put some money the way of the original owner.

    Any help appreciated

It is a late war mine detector, I think these were not in use before the end of 1944.
      Very nice find!

British Mk.4 mine detector with training mines, should be spare valves and usually 3 ground markers (wire framed pyramid shape that fold out with white canvas wrapped around). I have seen pictures of these used by RE after D-day.

This is the MK4A, a little later then MK4 but still in use during the war.
