British Navy Flag - Thoughts?

IMO a nice flag which someone
likely added a 1918 date stamp.
Kings crown would be nlt c.1952.

Just for my education, could you please identify the flag. Seeing the presumed Air Ministry letters and gold eagle, I naturally assumed an RAF or Fleet Air Arm connection.

IMO the flag appears to be a modern made
replica of the "unofficial" RAF ensign, see FOTW.

If the Flag was period 1918 It looks like it is Royal Naval Air Service. regards Gary
