Unfortunately "The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery" were not formed until the 24th of October 1947, and they did not wear collar badges, also they would have worn ball buttons.

Thanks. Collar insignia easy to remove!
So Regimental Ball buttons (with cannon) as opposed to general service buttons...
Got it! Uniform came like this with thes egeneric buttons factory applied (with tag that includes RHA units)

Looks like the collar insignia was worn on their blues... (of modern uniforms)
Image caption: Lt.Col. Mike Elviss(MBE), the Commanding Officer of 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery
Any pictures of the Model M1922 uniform in use by RHA?

I found this! Collar with insignia... It does appear to be a later uniform...
I do see the ball buttons!

It's actually the same uniform but in a very large cut, so I will keep the collar insignia as shown!

The tag on your tunic states it is for the King's Troop RHA., this was because they were (and still are) part of the Ceremonial Troops along with the others listed on the tag.

Officers Dress is totally different to the soldiers, the RHA soldiers were authorised the 1925 RE collar badge, but is was unauthorised in 1926, and the 1928 pattern (7 flamed grenade) was not authorised for the RHA.

It looks as though the man in the last image is possibly the RSM, they are untitled to wear Officer type badges and therefore has decided to wear the collar badges. Or he is the RQMS who has been posted into the King's Troop RHA, and did not wish to wear his tunic with holes in the collar.

If you are going to replace the buttons they need to be brass.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes those buttons are modern stay brights...Just showing the canon design...older brass would be more appropriate. yes it could very well be an anomaly and this could be a Regimental Sergeant Major (entitled to wear wearing officer collar insignia?)
or a transfer...Either way he is for sure a member of the RHA as captioned and wearing such flaming bomb insignia. I guess regulations were there to be bent...as often happens... Thanks for further enlightening me.

Appreciated! The tag does make it a special uniform (intended for all ceremonial troops)

Don't forget the white lanyard on the RHS.

Would it look like this? White British MP pattern (whistle or gun?") lanyard...
Appears to be tucked into the right chest pocket...

No that is the wrong one. You want a single cord lanyard that was originally used for the clasp knife. It is the only type used by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.
