          Someone sent me private message guessing that this is the 1900 model, lighter and with more capacity than regular troops.
          Know as India pattern officers canteen, also used by medical corps.

          Could this stuff produced both ww1 and ww2 ?

            It does look a bit like a ww2 medical canteen, although not by any means identical.

              But not the same as the WWI 'medic's canteen' as used by British and Imperial forces. Thought the metal cap on the cork makes me think it is earlier rather than later. Interesting puzzle.
