Help ID flight lieutenant

Hi folks,

I have a tunic and in the tunic is a name tag. Can anyone help me find some information about the pilot please? Hope to find the London Gazette about his DFC



What i can see is a number J273, a date an the pilots name: Ft Lt E.W. Simpson

Hope someone can help...

Hi,
I checked in the Carter/Savannah book on DFC recipients from 1918 to 1995 and there is no E.W. Simpson listed. I also believe the number on the tag is3273 not J273.

The name is indeed SIMKINS... I have read Simpson but i was wrong...

Someone could help me find some information about the man in the London Gazette:

Edward Wickins Simkins DFC, 132170 RAFVR, 88 SQN, Londen Gazette 19/05/44 without citation.

If anyone can help me with further information i should say: shoot
