Home made medal ribbons

I would like to share a most unusual find, it is these rather odd medal ribbons has anybody seen anything like it before?

I see a British War Medal, a Victory Medal and, I think, a 1939-45 Star plus a green/orange/black one and a red and white one which aren't ringing any bells. Very odd but a lot of work by someone.

Perhaps a school project or for a Boy Scout badge or some such?

Yes very unusual there are medals to with and some minis done the same?

I've seen ones made by winding different coloured threads round a strip of cardboard worn as ribbon bars. Fairly common amongst Polish Troops serving in Italy. Also similar in paper covered with a see-through plastic like material and some enamel. Again worn by Polish troops. Never seen full length ribbons like these though. Interesting.

I have seen the paper covered in plastic 'ribbons' for Russian [USSR] awards from the 2nd war and later and, I think I recall from at least one other east bloc country - possibly poland as you suggest or maybe Rumania or Bulgaria. But these seem to be unique!
