Incomprehensible British leather piece of equipment, similar to apron (dated 1945)

    Hi all!
I need help to understand the utilitarian purpose of this leather accessory.
    Red skin.
    Size: 65x70 sm.
The sides of the upper drawstring - traces of stitching, probably for the lap belt.
Bottom-slot with glue residues along the edges of its perimeter.
    Marked: (?)ASTLEGOL(?) CO. LTD.
    1945
    FA/100(?)1
    108
    What kind of gear?
Thanks in advance to all responded!
