Help wit British Steel Helmet, Please.

This is a recent UK attic find. Is it WW1? I can't find a date.

There is 'extra' padding under the liner but I don't want to disturb the string tie and look further.

The liner does appear to be of WW1 rather than WW2 era. There may be maker stamps on the inside of the rim if you can see them through the rust. Nice find though!

Actually it looks like a rare War Office pattern helmet with the correct liner for the helmet!

Are the rubber spacers solid or hollow ?

I see a hole , so "hollow" spacers. The very earliest ones had solid spacers. 1916 is good .
