Is there a name, rank, number and unit impressed on the rim of the British War Medal please?

    Enjoy the hobby, Keith

The first two ribbons are I believe from the USA, no idea if they were entitled to the British War Medal.

        Marc,

That was also my opinion, but was puzzled by the British ribbon.

        Best regards,

Yes, an odd combination - US Victory medal, anothe US ribbon I don't know and a British War Medal ribbon. The BWM will be named on the edge but I don't think one person would have earned this combination of medals. For one thing, it was very unuusual to get the BWM without the BRITISH Victory as well, so...??

Unofficial ww1 victory medal that was issued before the standard one was approved and then taken into use by some US states for there unofficial awards ,I really look forward to seeing if the medal has a US connection!!

From the other thread on the US forum. The medal has nothing to do with the ribbon bars, it was only put there for show. A red Herring.

Yes, the medal was used to show the award that the ribbon represented, and not an ownership connection with the ribbon bars.

Many, like me, are not so familiar with awards from other countries.

                Not intended to mislead.

                Best regards,
