Ok, I have looked for period photo's of the Army Fire Service and this is the best photo I can find. I have found nothing on line that details the boots. The boots in the photo look like rubber to me, but I could be wrong.Comment

I am not saying the boots I posted are pilot's boots, but both of the souls have a non slip rubber. I can see the ones I posted as fire related. I would just like to something about them. I see that you live in the UK. You would know better than I.Last edited by p-59a; 09-02-2017, 08:30 PM.Comment

Try doing research into Royal Navy Sea Boots,
Sea Boots had this shape top and were leather. The added rubber sole could have been added at any time in there long life.

I found this information from a British WW2 Navy reenactor's web site. They indicate WW2 era Fire and Navy boots were indeed rubber.Comment

This details leather seaboots and shows an image of the boot in your photo.
Rubber seaboots were introduced in 1937 and both leather and rubber were issued at a rate of 50/50.
