Just back from holiday in southern England where I was lucky to find what I was looking for. I'm mostly into German WW2 medals, and have never owned a Brittish helmet but for some unknown reason the erge to own a "blitz" helmet grew on me since 3 months ago.
I found it in an antique shop in Rye, wasn't cheap £80, but judging from searching the internet and English antique shops during my two weeks holiday there I get the feeling that these helmets isn't easy to find.
From what I can see, it is complete and untouched and IMO has never been in a collection. I have just removed some tape that the dealer had attached the price lath with besides dusting it of on the inside. Should I give the dry inne rhelmet something. How about the rusty inside of the helmet?
Hope you like it as much as I do, any comments are welcome. Any that have a gas-mask, helmet lamp and ARP badge/whistle for sale?
All the best
Thomas
