tailor made Lieutenant Colonel Battledress with Legion Of Merit?

    Hello all,

I am new to this forum but have been looking at it for years as there has been many interesting threads and posts over the years.

I recently acquired this tailor made battledress blouse to a Lieutenant Colonel of the Royal Signals but am struggling to trace anything about the original owner. There is a name inside which I have struggled, and failed, to decipher. As can be seen in the photograph he served in Western Command at some point.

One of the most interesting things about the blouse is what appears to be the Legion of Merit on the left breast. I have checked the list of all those who received this medal but nothing matched.

Perhaps somebody on here would have some insight into the original owner?

    Many thanks,

I would say psotwar LOM serving with NATO or BOAR.

It will be in the Gazette I would search for it in the 50s and early 60s

Not to bring this medal into dis-reute but it was a very common medal given to almost every allied col and above on exchange staff appointments with the US at least in this grade.
