    Help Identifying Naval Button

    Hi
I wonder if anyone has come across this button before. I can't seem to find any reference to it.
It has the Anchor and initials A.S
The maker is Logette & Son, 70 Fenchurch St., E.C
    It measures 25mm in diameter.
    I have a complete set of them in 25mm, 22mm and 17mm.

Any info would be really helpful

    Don't know them.
    For sure some Shipping Company.
As they produced also for intl. customers, it'll be hard to tell what they are.

      Hi
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I agree it might be impossible to identify them. The only thought I had and that's the Anchor is the same design as used by the Royal Navy. I thought it may have been a certain branch ??

This Anchor you can find with many Navies.
Royal Navy usually uses a Crowned Anchor.
I'm not aware of a "uncrowned" Design so far.

          Hi
If anyone was interested, I've found out what the buttons were.

"These buttons were used by the uniformed staff of the Admiralty - messengers and security staff. The AS standing for Admiralty Service. In use since the 1914-18 war. Also found with lined background and in silver plate and white metal."
The answer was courtesy of The British Button Society.
