WHat are these for - Small leather straps

    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what these small leather straps are for?
My guess is they are British but even not sure of that.
They came in a large lot of leather ware, the greater part I could determine but these I cant find in my books.

    Thanks for your time!

    Martin

My best guess - and that's all it is - is that either a whistle or a watch buckles to the small end and the other end goes over a pocket button so that the item is inside the poclet but, with the 'D' ring hanging down easy to get at. Or maybe not. Puzzling indeed.

      Hi Peter,

That indeed can be a possibillity.
I was searching through tent / pole equipment, not personal gear.
I'll dive in the books again, maybe I overlooked.
      Thanks for your time!

The germans had a single earphone for AA-crews, that holds on top with the double row strap, here is mine (this time webbing type):

So guess yours could be the german leather type, or the british equivalent (IF they had such a thing).

Another clue worth to examine, thank you very much!
The collection where these came from contained a lot of radio material, inclueding headphones like you show (although most was in very bad condition).
Thank you, I will check it out.

Yes, that are indeed a lot of similarities.
I guess my queste is at an end.
Thanks so much for your time!

              Best regards,

Well, not known by me, for sure!
Never even thought about helmet straps because...
Because I don't know, it looks like anything except for a helmet strap to me.
With those wide parts and hooks.
But I am far from CZ helmet expert so I will try to find examples.

So I would probably hurt no collector's heart when I dispose these...

                    Thanks all for your time!
                    Much appreciated!
