KEF manufacturer of Indian ww2 webbing

    Hello to all

Does anyone knows who is KEF manufacturer on ww2 Patt 37 webbing ?

    Thanks

I don't think that an exact manufacturer has ever been identified for the 'KEF' or 'AEF' markings.

There has been the persuasive notion mooted that the 'EF' portion relates to 'equipment factory' and the 'F' and 'A' prefix could be an abbreviation for either a city or state within India.

The stamp adjacent to/overlapped by the belt end seems to read 'BARODA', which is a city and state in central India, not far from Bombay/Mumbai in Gujarat. Formerly a princely state, it was a fairly important industrial city by WWII and presumably the home of 'KEF' manufacturing.

A dubai basewd but Indian controlled company, KEF Holdings, may or may not be a descendant of this firm.
