I got this tin today, any idea's on what a, Light. Beacon.Director.MK1 was ???

Something to do with runway visual range aid ? I don't know ? Have any of you guys seen this sort of box before and the contents ?

Thanks for that , one of those things would be a tad bit to big I think ! I can't find my tape measure.......(shes tidyed it away ) so here's a quick one next to a grenade, it's not that big really.

The Light, Beacon, Director is/was the device used to iluminate the Director on a Gun position. The director would be used to ensure that the guns were all pointing in the same and correct direction. You only show the box. The device is a metal tube, a torch bulb fitting, a bracket, three different coloured plastic tubes (white, red and green) and the batteries with pwere cable. The bracket is fitted onto the director and the metal tube with appropriate coloured plastic tube fitted. The light would be switched on when required.
