    3rd. Pattern FS fighting knife

I have been working on these for a few months now and wanted to share with members that have an interest.
For those of you who do not know, and as my screen name suggests, I create miniatures as a hobby.
The blades are hand made from O1 tool steel with a threaded tang like the originals. The guard is made from tool steel as well. The handle and tang nut are machined from brass and blued/blackened.
The sheath is made from leather and machine sewn up the reverse. The upper is machine sewn to include the elastic as in the originals. The tabs are hand sewn on and a line of stitching has been added at the joint of the upper to lower to strengthen the joint. The rivets are machined individually and set with a tool that I had to machine. The scabbard bottom is made from brass sheet, in two halves, and formed with a die that I had to create. They are trimmed and soldered together and blued/blackened.
    Ralph.

Excellent work, but wouldn't it have been easier to just make an oversized toothpick?

That is my objective, to make them as accurate as possible.

Where would be the challenge in that?

I think he's pullinmg your leg, Ralph. Dare I ask, whether you sell these and what you charge? I have some small idea of a fair price for hand work, doing leather and hand sewing myself.

                        Very nice.
Just curious, what kind of machine tools do you use for your work?

                          Egad!

Gives new meaning to the words my CSM said to me when he caught me with one.

                          Well done

All of my blade work is done by hand. I only use a bench top metal lathe to make the turned parts.
