    WW 2 Medal ribbon rings.

Going thru my WW2 stars I notice some different soldering or spot welding on some of my stars. One of the stars were a little different. Anybody have this type of ring weld ???

Not that I know of offhand, but there were different types of brazing / solder used at different times, & some were issued unbrazed / unsoldered, I can't remember the details of which types were issued over which periods.
This subject would make a good thread.

My only contribution at the moment is to say that a March 2000 issued 1939 - 45 Star that I have has an unbrazed ring, & a brushed rather than polished reverse.

      Ribbon Rings on WW2 Stars

I think I have three or maybe four different rings. Yes it would make for a good thread. may be a way of identifying repos. I don't think any of mine are repos but this puts it in different light. I'm not that good of an artist but I can put 2 coins together and mark the difference. Make circle guys and draw your ring joints and opinions.

This you don't want (the star was good but home made copper ring.)
