I am only an amateur historian but I always thought that V Force was raised in the Far east. Clearly the owner of this badge was quite lost when he lost it in belgium! Perhaps the RAF misheard him when he asked for a plane to drop him over Burma!

What a tale and some poor numpty is buying it....beggars belief

Ade, yes I had a look Weird story? The badge in the auction is different to mine. Mine is hollow on the reverse. Similar front though. I think mine is a fake albeit quite a nice looking badge (Glen from the American Badge Company almost punched my lights out just for making him touch a dirty repro as he called it when I showed him ). Its special to me though as it was the first piece of militaria I ever bought. I think I was 10? at the time and it cost me a mighty £3!! Makes me laugh that the first piece I bought was SF related
