Any idea what this is?

I got this patch a few months ago from a friend at a show. Neither of us knows what it is, but I liked it anyway.

I have a feeling it's British (or from one of their territories or colonies) but I'm not sure.

Does anyone know?

Any other ideas welcome. I thought it might be a hotel porter's cap badge or something.

Might not be UK as most of what I have seen have the company's flag rather than just a cypher.

I have checked some other Commonwealth sites but again no luck again way too many hours wasted on the Web

I think dragnet is on it. I have many different shipping line cap badges that follow this pattern.
