LRDG BADGE real or fake

What metal is it made of - looks almost black in the photos and I believe they were brass.

I only have photos at this point ... It looks like copper or brass base , from first photo you can see traces of red color ( due too camera flash ?? )

It is an original blackened brass LRDG badge. The most common style of which there were many unissued examples, like this, in the DLO hoard.

I am interested in buying if it is for sale?
