    New webbing

Here are a few webbing items I picked up yesterday. First off, I think this is for carrying a large container of hot food up to the frontline??? It is made by Mills, Dated 1945 and is practically mint. A pretty unusual piece of equipment!

      Hi

Is it not a Vickers ammunition box carrier?

Next is a nice RAC holster. You might know these as Super Rare SAS/Commando Cowboy Holsters if you shop on ebay It is unfortunately missing the leg strap (Anyone got a spare??) but its made by Mills and dated 1940 Was cheap too This will do nicely for a Polish Amoured Mannequin set up I am currently working on.

Dont think so? The pack is formed to take a circular shaped container. Like a Soup container or something?

I see the curve now you have mentioned it.I have a vickers carrier, very similar with the quick release catches, although the bottom is hollow with only a couple of strips of webbing. Not sealed like yours, and also not as well padded.
I'm still thinking ammunition, I have a hard time believing the British army were that considerate!

Nice holster!I've never seen one like that before either!

I think so too it is a carrier for a 1,5 gallon food or drinks container.

Jean Bouchery has some pictures in his book "the British Soldier" volume 1.
