Identification of WWI uniform

I need help trying to identify what country this uniform is.

Photo is a bit blurred but if thats a thistle on his collar badge he's Scottish . Rob

The frogging on the jacket suggests, to me, a 'patrol jacket' as worn pre-WWI by Rifles, cavalry and many Volunteer units of the British and Imperial armies. I think it very likely he's British but can't see enough of the badges to rule out Canada/Aus./ etc or say anything else useful.
