Yes very nice piece! Allied for sure- the cartouche/ table was left blank, there were a number of possible designs, or u could put anything u want on it- unit insignia, initials, etc- most def a victory piece, but the lion could be almost anything- a set design, maybe a UK ring my best guess as I'm thinking the soldier was trying to explain a rampant lion as the symbol.

He may have been piossed and its a p*** poor lion, but apparently some Tommy bought it. And probably overpaid!
