Nice ring that came my way, British i belive as the ''V'' on one side i belive means victory. Why a lion on the front i dont know but there you go.

Yes very nice piece! Allied for sure- the cartouche/ table was left blank, there were a number of possible designs, or u could put anything u want on it- unit insignia, initials, etc- most def a victory piece, but the lion could be almost anything- a set design, maybe a UK ring my best guess as I'm thinking the soldier was trying to explain a rampant lion as the symbol.
