helmet of "Legiao Portuguesa", volunteers in the Spain War (1936-1939) alongside to General Francisco Franco.
It's a WW1 Portuguese mod. 1916

Also looks similar to the minor's helmet my grandfather wore when he working at the Faraday Urainum Mine at Bancroft. It's possible that he used a helmet he picked up from an Army Surplus store which at that time they didn't sell Chinese or Korean repro army or East or Bundy stuff. Also his minor's helmet was made of some kind fiberglass material

Have to agree with pzrwest at first sight a Miners helmet from the 1950~60s, seen a number of these with Made in England stamped inside.
There was a fluted version of the Brodie but these are quite rare
That being said here is your helmet. that was dug up from WWI battle site.
Given the writing on the liner is looks like period Portuguese/Spanish cursive I am now leaning toward the Portuguese. The mod 1916 which was locally made was quite deep and bonnet like. So this one might be some of the 1917 batch acquired form England most likely the same company that made the Officer's Brodie and the pzrwest grand-pa's miners hat.
