    RCAF Uniform

    Would appreciate any thoughts on this and value. Would it be ww2 period?

    Looks like WWII or after this insignia was worn until unification - in 1963, I think.

    Bombardier, Flight Lieutenant. Without any medal ribbons and depending on whether or not its named inside maybe $50-100.00 Cdn tops. But that's a guess, so don't quote me. Nice but not rare or tremendously collectible.

      Check the inside pocket for a tailors label. Could have a name, year or other info.

        Ww2 period. Postwar the RCAF went through two insignia changes before unification. This included button chnages as well as wing qualification. Its possible that the wearer wore this tunic in service afyer the war, but the wing is for sure a wartime issue. Nice tunic.

          Appreciate the opinions.

          Also got this one with the matching pants - unfortunately no names that I can find.

          Thanks!

            Also, I found a tailor tag on the first dated 1, 1942 from a Northampton tailor to "P.O. R.W. Henry".

            Any insights would be appreciated!

            Pants are included with this one as well for a nice set!

              Well no 'P.O. R.W. Henry' at CWWGC so he survived the war

              Found this name in the London gazette

              R. W. HENRY (2518796). 30th June 1953.

                I appreciate the efforts!

                Any chance this could be the same gentleman: http://aircrewremembered.com/rcafnot...names-h-l.html

                "HENRY F/Lt R.W. Served with 421 Sqn on 19 May 1944 flying Spitfighter IX for sortie to Neufchatel, he is s/d by flak and bails out. Made prisoner."

                  P.O. = Pilot Officer
                  F.O. = Flying officer

                  One uniform has 2 stripes for Flight Lieutenant...the first uniform which is named, right? (= promotion)
                  Btw the "B" wing for bombardier does not make sense for a Spitfire pilot unless the wing was added...
                  (RW)Henry would be a common name...
