RAF Practice Bomb or something else?

My thoughts are that this is an RAF Practice Bomb, nose section only, and would welcome thoughts and opinions. Its overall length is five and three quarter inches, is is two and seven eighths inches at the base and one and one eighth of an inch at the nose. It weighs just over 3 Kilos. I am hoping that the wire attached to the cotter pin is not ominous. It may not be a Practice Bomb, but would like to be sure before I loan it to an Aviation Museum. Many thanks, Clive.

            Seems these are still produced

Checked some other docs on these and there where about 4 small sizes from 8lb up to 25lbs. Seems the RCAF and RAAF and USAAF all had thier own versions
