Never wise to forget that soldiers weren't the only people who liked to shine. Civilina fashion item or, perhaps given the complexity of construction, a fraternal or religious/cultural order, a la the Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows and so on. Not nominating either of them, but you get the idea.Comment

To the original poster. I have seen several of your "what is it and what is it worth" posts recently. These items are then usually "quickly" listed by you on eBay either using the help received here for ID or an idea of scarcity etc. hopefully you have thanked those individuals here for their assistance.Comment
