    Para Regiment Badge for review

    Hello,

Could I get any thoughts on these I just picked up in a collection.

They look decent compared to some guides online and there appears to be traces on the top of where a crown was snapped off...

What do you guys think on originality and value?

    Appreciate it!

Seems to be a good badge for French SAS.

To compare one from my collect:

It is an original WW2 period nickel plated cap badge with the crown cut off at some point. If you believe that makes it a valuable WW2 French SAS cap badge you will be pleased to hear I can deliver such badge to you regularly.

Luc, what would be other purposes for the crown removal?

Perhaps to make an already valuable badge into something really rare and expensive? Or am I being too cynical?

                Hi Peter,

I agree with that skepticism and it's a valid point.

But how valuable is the 'British' version? Ive heard quotes of $100~ for the 'French' one. I cant imagine there's a massive discrepancy...

Either way, I picked up mine very cheap as part of a collection, so I'm not a die-hard supporter of the concept, but see it as a possibility, or modification in line with actual worn pieces. Sure there's no way to prove it's history or provenance.
