Well it looks like a battery pack. I think because of the construction a wet cell perhaps?

Looks like is was in recent use as those blue connects are more modern in nature.

How many positions does the switch have.

Does a regular mains plug fit on the with part. Does that white part move??

Thanks for the replies, yes i thought battery box but the switch had me scratching my head, the switch moves to one position and the white part does not move. Im going to go with battery box for now, cheers

One other thought is a battery box for a miners headlamp. Hence the two position switch and the odd plug.

Might well be but the broad arrow would not fit in with Mine Inspector
