Hi . I show you this everyday coat . I friend brought it back from Canada 20 years ago. Buttons are missing. Opinions welcome (era , etc...)

The shoulder titles are poast war period ... thinking '60 or '70.

Nice coat. Just down the road about a mile or so a guy has a modern 22Re truck for sale. I know it's current period, just I drove by it again today... he had two of them but one has been sold Has 22Re in black paint on the doors

The VanDoos, as we Canadians call them [corruption of Vent Deux] formed a 2nd and 3rd battalion during the Korean conflict -1951 to 1953 - so the presence of the '1' on the shoulder title dates it from after that period. I'm not sure when they were officially pahsed out but after the introduction of the 1960s style uniform they were not much used, so 1960's - 1980s is probably the time frame.

The greatcoat is an example of the 1 Cdn Div from the late 1950's. The numbered battalion flashes for the Royal 22nd Regt were approved in 1956. There were five battalions, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. This kind of flash was worn until the army was given the CF uniform.
The numbered battalion flashes came back in the early 80's, but were much smaller in size.
