Hello Nicholas,

I believe your title is that worn by the Yugoslav speaking Americans of 3 Contingent US Operational Group which was under the command of the British Land Forces Adriatic LFA in 1944.

LFA were a group of units operating together under the British Intellligence Branch, GHQ Cairo. In 1943 designated Raiding Forces Middle East, this changed in 1944 to Land Forces Adriatic when operating in the Mediterranean area. The group of units included the Long Range Desert Group, 50, 51, 52 Commandos, East African Irregular Companies, 2 Special Service Brigade, Raiding Support Regiment, Special Boat Service, Assyrian Parachute Company and a United States Operational Group.

However, I am not sure the title is original as other examples of this title I have seen are in yellow embroidery and have the complete designation "3 CONTINGENT O.G".
With traces of white thread on the back it may be worth using a black light to see if the thread glows?
