    Canadian Para Badge - WW2?

I recently acquired this badge (very inexpensively) and the seller thought it was WW2 vintage but I'm not sure. The Internet research I did produced much conflicting information so that effort didn't help. Your opinions if this example is or is not WW2 vintage would be most appreciated. Also, any information as to how to distinguish WW2 versions from post-war would also be most helpful.

Here's a view of the back. Thanks in advance for your help.

Not my field but I don't think the back is right for WWII. The Cdn pattern was very similar after the war for a good while. Check this site for examples of good WWII wings: http://arnhemjim.blogspot.ca/2013/07...ification.html

Also, the British Badge Forum, in its Canadian section, has good discussions of real and copy para brevets, which technically this is, as it is earned, not simply issued. Hope this helsp a little.

It most closely resembles the type 2 wing of US manufacture which would make it a WWII produced wing, though I am not by any means up on these only having one post war wing in my collection and I might have identified it incorrectly.

This is one of the "unusual Type 2 variants" that have yet to be fully explained.
