    Hello

Which kind of headgear dis the British commandos have for night patrols in 1944 in Normandy ?

Did they put the green beret ? a face veil ? a cap conforter ?

    Thanks

Could be everything from a helmet over beret to the commando bonnet.

If you have to do a raid you don't have to make some noise so it would be less a helmet.

My money would be on cap comforter first, beret second and helmet a distant third but, as sugested, there doesn't seem to have been any hard and fast rule. probably depended on the time of year, the weather and how much of a hard ass the section commander was!
