    Ration, unknown box

    Hi,

I found this box, it was left behind in Belgium during WW2.
Does someone know what was in the box?

I just found one other pic and this explenation:

This box may have contained military chocolate. Maynards Ltd. was a confectionery company that was founded in London in the 1890s.

    Is it correct?

    Thanks!

I agree with the comment above. This is not a military ration.

Grandads-Kitbag did not say it was not military... A polar expedition could have used military rations to...

This one was left during the war, so if not military, what else? Do you have info why it is not military in your opinion? Chocolate was packed in cardboard boxes too...

Hmm I think it is a survival ration from life-boat

Hmm I wonder if it could be a left over from the general famine relief effort like the welfare biscuits in tins?
