    According to this site Belgian rank insignia was worn starting in 1944...so in war time still...
    when the Belgium army reestablished itself...(after the country was liberated...)
    but I agreed that under British and Canadian control British style chevrons would have been the norm!
    The Fuselier units were a Belgium Government initiative, raised by their army...

      => It's common knowledge that British rank insignia were worn till May 1945. The new official regulations were issued May 15th 1945.

      => Very good website, the webmaster is a friend of mine but the information concerning the rank insignia is incorrect.

      => Photograph below:
      - on the right = battle-dress before May 15th 1945
      - on the left = battle-dress after May 15th 1945
      - in the middle = regulations
