Is this British helmet?? I saw photos of polish sold. wearing such helmets

Are there any stampings in black ink side the helmet........broad arrow or a WD mark?

Yes it is (South African)I had one exactly the same but with Afrika Corps insignia ,it was taken from the stores at Tobruk by ze Germans .Rob.

There is an Klein and Co manuf. mark, and smth. like this : Jerusalem - made in India. The interior is red and dark green.
