Wilkinson sword fighting knife value ?

    Hi Guys,

I have been offered this FS knife, I know the photos are of bad quality but I have the chance to view it.

Is this a 1st pattern ? and any ideas on what would be a fair price to pay for it ?

    Many thanks

    Mark

    As you say 1st pattern
Has it been tipped and are the etched panels clear?
    From the photos £400-600
If the blade is full length and the etches not corroded 6-800

My values are trade collector prices dealer will ask a lot more
There was a nice one at the Bedford fair a few weeks back
      No takers at £900

And condition is every thing with these knives
As it is with most edged weapons rust and damage reduces the price considerable

Pity but like Nick said condition is important.
Been after for a good clean first pattern for ages myself.

300 tops. That's a fair price , you didn't ask for a crazy price...most of the time it pays to negotiate then check the asking price before diving in to the whirlpool. A fair price is one you can always recoup in case something like an emergency unforeseen arises and you might need to get your money back quickly....I don't mean making a profit , just breaking even...so you're on your own.

May we ask how much the seller wants for it

Nice first pattern F&S but does it have a historical background???

48RMC - the stamp suggests a post war export to the US, so probably not.
