Need help with SAAF Pins

Greetings,

I am hoping that someone here, on the Forum, can possibly help me in identifying as to if the following SAAf pins were military issued or are they sweetheart pins? I have never seen them before and I have spent the last hour trying to answer my own question.

Not sure if the scans will depict it clearly but these are enamel and appear to be WW2 period pieces.

They are WW2 pins that pilots in the line wore on their BD lapels.I have BDs with them on ...similar to USA DI s.Some where the Squadrons existed post war where then worn post war as well up to the Korean war period.
