Can Ayone Identify These Strange Patches Please.

Hi Chaps,

I purchased 2 pairs of these odd patches at an antiques fair a couple of years ago and have been unable to identify them. Does anyone have any idea what they are? They seem to be of British manufacture and have some age to them, they do not contain any man made fibres. Thanks very much in advance to all who take the trouble to reply.

Regimental arm badge for the Royal Leicestershire Regiment, also worn by members of 579 Light Anti Aircraft Regt RA (TA) and it's predecessors the 44 Searchlight Regt RA (TA) formed in 1940 from the 4th Bn The Royal Leicestershire Regt.

Fantastic, thank you very much Mark. have you any idea what period these embroidered pieces date from, they certainly seem more wartime than post in their construction. I had never seen a pair until I found these. Are they quite scarse? I would be happy to put them on the E stand but don't have a clue what they are worth.
