Question about 2nd glider pilots badge

Guys,
I've been offered a 2nd glider pilots badge that has a light blue circle around the "G", and not yellow as one would expect.
Any ideas what this might be? Tropical, post-war, bad repro, service dress?
Any idea of its value?
I appreciate your thoughts on this.

I think that is the Air Training Corps version of the Glider Pilot badge.

Luc, I'm with Marc on this one. It is a modern badge. It looks like this but without the crown of course

Isn't there also an issue re the colour of the "G" in these badges - white or yellow indicating wartime or not?

Or have I got that around me neck?

I've only seen the yellow "G" on wartime badges (and reproductions).

Is the badge with the G not used for the Co pilot on the plane?

Yes Robert, the co-pilot or the 2nd pilot, as they were more commonly referred to as.

I agree with Jack. It was issued late '44 if I remember well.

As a random fact I can add that before the tow line was released, the tug aircraft captain was in charge of the glider as well.
