BWM abbreviation help

BWM is engraved to a J. Corfield 22840, with the Abbrevation G GDS? Anyone help me identify that abbreviation, or link me to a site where I can research this fellow?

Thanks for the information. His records are there The UK seems to have a much simplier and quicker way of researching names than the US does. Seems like a great system.
