There is no mention of John being wounded or invalided back to England, so it is assumed he went through the rest of the war until the end.

He eventually returned and was soon to marry a Rose Hardwick at Southwark during the second quarter of 1919. Below is the entry in the July-August-September Marriage Index from 1919.

At this point nothing more is known of John or his wife. It is unsure if they had any children or when they passed on. Maybe someday information will surface that will close the story.

John’s medals eventually came into his hands.

The Medal Roll for the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal confirm his entitlement to the Trio that is normal for soldiers serving starting in 1915.
