                Hello Andy,

It's a Canadian made warden's helmet. GSW D.P. & H. stands for General Steel Wares, Department of Pensions and Health.

They were responsible for the ARP.

These helmets are made of a mild steel and were issued to non-com. units. I've never actually had one in my hands so please check for me if these were magnetic or not.

                Tony

Tony: i've handled this helmet myself, when Andy bought it at the show - what tells you it's Canadian? I don't know much about them so I'm just curious.

                        Hello Geoff,

According to a book I have GSW is a Canadian maker. The book states that the info came from Roger Lucy who I believe is a Canadian who has written books on helmets. I don't have any of his books myself.

Here's a list of Canadian makers that I picked up from somewhere years ago:

                        C.L./C. - Canadian Motorlamp Co.,

G.S.W. - General Steel Wares and Aluminum Goods

A.G./.C. - General Steel Wares and Aluminum Goods

                        Cheers

                        Tony
