    Help with irish medal black an tans ?

    HI , can any one offer an opinion on this please,, took a punt on this wishful thinking it may be ` Black an Tans ` connection ??? ( ribbon colours )

    Has the angel to the centre and the motto " fame crowns the victor " has a Leeds manufacturer , could be a sports badge just dont know any help will be great , thanks gents

    I would think sports badge as well. The Auxilliaries and the Special Reserve Constabulary were British police formations and any official medals they had would have been issued from HM government. Whether this might be an unofficial medal is an open question but those forces, though called 'Black and tan' wore khaki and rifle green, and I'm not sure whether they had orange and blue in their insignia.
