Help with British cap and badge needed

Hi
Can anyone ID this cap. Cannot find the badge in any books and know nothing about hats so do not even know how old the cap is. Badge reads TELCOM. Is this anything to do with telecommunications?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hiya , the badge you have is second war period / worn by telecom of cable + wireless ( civi phone company ) ,they were formed in 1944 ...i think before D.day and served with all 3 of services , they had a similar status to War corresponents , if this is an original badge its worth a very lot of cash ,hope this helps ,Michael
